The Sullivan South Band Boosters and I are working hard to make this a wonderful opportunity for team and personal growth. We are pulling together a great staff and curriculum that we hope will be valuable to your programs.
The South Guard Symposium is a two-day camp; overnight stay is not required but will be available upon request. Fees include instruction, meals and a camp T-shirt. At the conclusion of camp, Saturday evening, there will be an awards dinner and performances, family and friends are welcome to attend.
Classes we are offering. . .
For performers: Dance, Flag, Rifle, Sabre, Leadership and Team bonding
For chaperones: Different aspects of supporting your program (ex. first aid, fundraising, etc.)
For instructors: Choreography and Design concepts for fall and winter programs, participation in the leadership and team bonding class is encouraged.

Camp Staff
Jen Barton:
Jen currently serves as the full time color guard designer, choreographer and instructor for Byrnes High School’s guard program (WGI Open Class Finalists 2010 and 2011). She also works with IS Couture based out of Atlanta, GA designing flags and costumes. Jen is an alumnus of Center Grove High School, OH and went on to study instrumental music education at Florida State University. Jen’s performance experience includes with Northeast Independent Winter Guard (Jacksonville, FL), Santa Clara Vanguard drum corps (Santa Clara, CA), Aspera Winter Guard and CrownGUARD (both based out of Atlanta, GA). She has served as creative and instructional staff with several groups in the Southeast, including Etude Winter Guard, Southeast Independent Winter Guard, Summerville HS, Dorman HS, East Coweta HS, York HS, Sullivan South HS and more.
Brian Winn:
Brian has taught summer camps in both dance and color guard including dance at the ST-ARTS summer camp for 3 years, color guard at the Central Carolina Camp for 2 years, and with Superior Marching Camps for one summer. Brian has been teaching color guard for 7 years at various high schools in South Carolina as well as choreographing and teaching Étude winter guard for 3 years. He has also marched with Capital Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, Étude Winter Guard, and Phantom Regiment World guard. In addition to this, Brian has a degree in Dance Education and is currently finishing his 2nd year teaching dance full-time at Andrew Jackson High School in Kershaw, SC.
